I wonder what happened to the deal we had in place about 10 years ago? I remember it having all sorts of controls on Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Lol, no. Some moron thought we should rip it up because their friends wanted to start a war. JCPOA was working, and while they were enriching it was below weapons grade for research, medical, and power generation. Plus the IAEA was given more access under the JCPOA.
You may have swallowed some horse shit used to justify the current situation which will end up worse than before if we had just stuck with the plan.

That article clearly states the periods of production were both prior and after the original deal.
