    Are they old? Maybe rubber/plastic has degraded?

      Just checked, the right one has green goop too! Maybe it’s lubricant for the screw that was misapplied?

      Chu is cheap. Maybe they used scrappy plastics?

      Fwiw I have many IEMs and have never seen that!
