It can fly up to 500 meters but by law you’re only allowed to go up to 120 meters. The range is up to 10km but if you go beyond 5km you won’t have enough battery left to fly back. Realistically the range is around 2 to 3km at most. And yes I’ve crashed - always at low altitude and at the cost of propeller blades only and no it wasn’t expensive - only 330€ for the drone, controlle, 3 batteries and a case (DJI Mini 4K)
