Comment on irony is pressing
toynbee@piefed.social 2 days agoSort of. I have a “catch-all” address (that’s just the most legit looking result to a search for the phrase, I won’t vouch for whether it’s a good site). Basically anything@domain.com goes to spam@domain.com. It’s a bit awkward if you need to respond, but otherwise, it’s good for signing up to sites and it makes it easy to filter out ones that spam you and don’t provide a good unsubscribe link.

psst, if you have a catchall like that, you can probably SEND from anything@yourdomain.com too! We sure can.
You just need a client that lets you type in the From field. Some do, some don’t.

As much as I’m mildly technically competent, I tend to interact with my email from a browser. Generally speaking, it’s not that easy to alter headers in that environment.

Oh, you don’t need to go header-diving or anything. Just a client that lets you do that. Dunno if any browser-based ones do, but they certainly technically could.
