    A key problem here is that capitalism creates a boom and bust cycle, where with agriculture that means feast and famine. And famine is really undesirable. So we have a set of policies designed to ensure constant overproduction of food, with support for the farmers to make that possible.

    We are of course facing a global food shortage come fall due to the fertilizer stranded during planting season by the Iran war, and the new policy is to burn as much food as possible.
