rabiezaater@piefed.social 3 weeks agoThe whole “doing serious damage” part is where I disagree. The damage attributed is usually due to the ultra wealthy and capitalism, not due to AI itself.

The two are inseperable. The scale of large language models means they can only be trained by people willing to spend billions on data harvesting and compute.
