I’d look into a vintage adjustable Gillette Slim or Gillette Fatboy on eBay. It may be a bit more than you hoped for but likely less than buying a razor you don’t care for and then buying another. If you keep your eyes open I think you may be able to get one with cosmetic imperfections but perfectly usable for under 50.

Gillette slims and Fatboys have a geometry where there is not much blade flex, which can reduce chatter and catching, so they’re good for beginners IMO.
