faintwhenfree@lemmus.org 2 weeks agoReduce. Reuse. Recycle are quoted in that order for a reason. For some reason we humans don’t want to think. Put burden of recycling on someone else and call it a day without wondering if it’s actually recycled. Yeah we are a scourge to the environment.

Governance isn’t “someone else”, it’s all of us organized. We’ve already bought into the propaganda of rugged individualism, by design it doesn’t work, all it nets is the self-loathing that I don’t think you realize you’re now uncritically projecting onto your entire species without even considering that I might fundamentally disagree with such cynicism. I’m not interested in circling the drain with people trained into preoccupation with personal, there are real things that can be done to cut off the problem at the source. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle must be aimed by our collective effort at concentrations of power.
