this is just a good example of mis-placing pride with demographic details instead of personal accomplishment. I get how some people started saying they were proud because people wanted them to be ashamed, but considering that it is very rare for people to be shamed for such things these days, it seems inappropriate to use your night time preferences as a source of "pride", regardless of what they are. There is much in life one can be proud of, but things you are born with? It takes no effort to be born a certain way and therefore warrants no pride.
