GunValkyrie@lemmy.world 7 months agoThe reason single slice cheese is great for grilled cheese is due to the emulsifiers in it. Even if you use other cheese you want to throw a slice of that in there to bind it all together.

Or some other melting cheese like jack. For sure though American cheese or Velveeta are fantastic melting cheeses for a good cheese blend.
