TwilightVulpine@kbin.social 11 months agoBecause they want to keep it till the very last moment just in case they can make money with a remake or something, even if it crumbles to dust and gets lost forever. What I really want to ask is why does the law enable this?

Because copyright makes rights holders lots of money, money they use to bribe politicians to keep extending copyright.
