very_well_lost@lemmy.world 3 weeks agoThat’s not true. The “fatness” of metallic atoms doesn’t even come close to overcoming how rare they are. Hydrogen and helium combined still make up ~98% of the total mass fraction. Oxygen, which is next in line, is only about 1% the total mass.

They said “larger proportion” not majority, and 2% is larger than 1%
