Bro she’d be really hot if her eyelashes were longer, if her lips were unnaturally large and bloated, if her nails were as long as a Therizinosaurus, if her cheeks were sucked into her mouth and none existent, if her jaw was sharp and defined enough to sharpen a blade, if her hair was an obscure color like hot pink, if her hips to butt ratio was so large that if she was a normal person I would feel pity and put her down.

Yeah, I think the argument is that we are oblivious and do respond all the time to well-done makeup without realizing it, but finally notice the edge cases where it’s poorly done.
I don’t have the data to verify that but will stipulate to being oblivious about such things

As a artist that is quite true with art and I see no reason to say makeup is any different
