I expect that it is remarkably difficult to sell a radioisotope thermal generator and get paid anything meaningful and not get caught or ratted out by the folks with you
I bet your success odds go up drastically if you’re in the CIA and have contacts with government officials globally though
They were a bunch of alpinists without those contacts though. Not likely to pull it off
Not hard to make sure the only people with you are in on it and/or kill anyone who isn’t
