burntbacon@discuss.tchncs.de 2 weeks agoI hate that people always talk about curls and how ‘jealous’ they are that I have them. It’s like, “bitches, you don’t know what curly hair is like!” Fucking straight people don’t understand how combing it makes it look worse, or how it ties itself in literal knots that make sailors jealous. My hair lady seems to be the only person to understand how freaking tough it is to maintain while long.

Oh yeah, it’s insanity and it can be so inexpensive and unfair. I finally found a wide tooth comb with the correct spacing and have settled on “once a week” for comb out, conditioning. I have nearly stopped washing with soap (just rinse).
Figuring out routine and products is nightmare. Then the voice “just do a blow out” wins. And it’s a week of frizz. Worse is getting compliments when it’s straight only.
