Guys, my new monitor is blindingly bright after pulling the protective film off.

Wear polarizing sunglasses and now only you can see the screen. Hardware based incognito mode.
What they peeled off looks like the layer of dark stuff, the polarized sheets look different and are usually bending the indium tin oxide coated layer of glass.
I’ve disassembled a lot of monitors.
