Comment on 152. "A War on Children": A Generation in Gaza at Risk (James Elder)
Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 1 week agoThe CEO using money stolen from artists
What? the payout ratio on Spotify is 70/30, 70% goes to the artists, 30% goes to Spotify, same as everywhere else, who is having their money stolen?
to fund a war machine
Again Europe is currently at war with Russia, I don’t understand how this completely skips your mind, it’s like the second biggest thing impacting the west right now, immigrants and war in Ukraine
How about platforming Joe Rogan
Who gives a fuck about joe rogan jesus
Actively destroying the music industry by making up AI bands
The AI bands are already there and they’re on every platform
and paying the least to real artists
??
while being the worst app in every way
Still works for me? Not sure how it’s the worst?
well you stand by your principles and don’t let morals agrt in the way
My morals support artists so I pay for Spotify so that the artists that I listen to get paid money every time I listen to them, also because of my outstanding music taste (no pop music allowed!) I increase the payout for smaller artists as they get a bigger chunk of the pie.
All that other shit is either exaggeration (funding a war machine 🙄) or just silly (platforming Joe Rogan… the like most popular podcast in the world… can’t believe they’d want him on the platform)

Stole this from another user comment. I’ll just leave it here for you, seeing as you’re so keen to pat yourself on the back.

how many billions or even trillions of listens are they doing every month?
there’s also nothing stopping you from using Spotify to discover artists then going to concerts and buying vinyl records and merch to support them, hell you can even listen to them on spotify and buy the music on bandcamp if you really want to support them
