I realized recently this broke a lot of things I was using on a desktop, so I've been trying to not use it
If you run a very basic setup
that's my goal and I should be ok for my use case
You think they're have a mainboard upgrade eventually? Maybe a pinephone pro board to put in regular pinephones, after they do well selling the pinephone pros? That would make the most sense to me, and make it usable, if it's possible to do it
I noticed that an old simple point and shoot camera I have from the 2000s is better quality than their cameras... oh boy!
ubuntu touch I checked their status page for pinephone and was kind of suprised at some things they haven't got working yet: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/pinephone/

Pine64 already said you won't be able to swap the board out.
Seriously even as a dumb phone it doesn't work. Nobody could understand me when I was talking. And it often wouldn't ring.

Oh ok because they already offered a mainboard upgrade I thought for the original pinephone to the convergence mainboard so I was wondering then if they'd take the next logical step with the pinephone pro mainboard: https://linuxsmartphones.com/upgrade-your-pinephone-3gb-32gb-mainboards-coming-in-november/

I was just reading their website today and they said you most likely won't be able to because of thermal and software issues. Some Linux engineer autistic guru might do it but it's not supported.

got it, that's interesting, I still wonder if they'll be able to make some kind of mainboard for it eventually in the future, I guess only time will tell, but probably by the time they get to an 8GB RAM model it might be worth just getting a total new phone anyway
