Naw, they are trying to 'restore' trust in the banking system, lol.
Doesn't matter. Now people have seen that your life savings can be disappeared at the whims of the govt. Tomorrow they could do it to other protesters or people who don't take the Vax...

In searching for "restoring trust" in combination with "convoy protest" or "emergency powers", I got nothing. It seems the strategy is to say nothing, know that mainstream media is in their pocket and will do the same, and hope people forget.
Some credit unions claimed there were mass withdrawals after Christia Newland/Trudeau announced the freezing of accounts:

On the same three days after the announcement, 3 biggest Canadian banks all went offline at the same time. The rest is analysis by 3rd parties who said that at least 20% of the population had lost complete faith in the Banks
