The ânutâ from a cashew is the seed a stone fruit (like the center of a peach pit). The strawberry âseedâ is the entire fruit.

I donât see why the apple from a cashew canât also be classified as an aggregate accessory fruit, like the flesh of the strawberry, which would make the cashew pit an achene like the seeds of a strawberry.
