You can choose to ignore things you don’t understand on Lemmy. I don’t go into the Risa posts because I know they’re not for me. If something doesn’t make sense and you want to ask about it, go for it, but don’t get upset when the explanation isn’t one that makes sense to you. For a lot of people, popular Vines were everywhere for a while. Not everything on the internet is for you.

Titling a post with basically “no homo” makes the majority of people go “huh why are they being casually homophobic” not “oh wow they are in a pool, so that’s like that one Vine from 6+ years ago!”.
But by all means join the lineup of people spamming vine quotes at me as if I knew or cared what they mean lol.

lmao I made a flippant comment and then got dogpiled by 20 people screaming at me over it, literally everything I have said has been on the back foot as I am pummeled by people mocking me and being angry because I dared not to care about Vine and didn’t recognize some dumb homophobic sounding reference.
But no I am the one that cares so much, not the people spamming all my comments and sending me angry DM because I dared to besmirch the name of a dead website.
