The middle was filmed first by a different show runner (eps 2 to 6) and when it was reviewed, something wasn’t sitting right so they brought on one of the original show runners.
They made the 1st episode setting it all up, and then added the last 3 episodes. Then they had to refilm parts of the middle to accommodate some changes.
