- Brush: Wolf Whiskers – “Gianmaria” w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
- Razor: Gold Dollar Straight Razor – Red (2)
- Razor: Blackland - Batch 002 - Razor
- Blade: Bolzano snapped in half (1)
- Lather: Martin de Candre - Fougère - Soap
- Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Weinstrasse - Aftershave
- Post Shave: Goodfellow & Co. - Face Lotion - Kelp & Sea Mineral
2nd straight razor shave in the books, with some finishing up with the Blackland. I had spent an additional 20-30 minutes on my 10k stone yesterday in hopes that it would increase the sharpness, and it seems to have worked! The edge still sucks, though, and on my thicker chin whiskers it really struggles.
So, there’s hope yet for this cheap razor. Whether it’s worth the extra effort…? I bought this razor to play around with sharpening, so I might as well continue to play around with sharpening.
The smart thing to do would be to buy a ~3k and an 8k stone to do it properly… especially since I can see myself honing other razors in the future, but for now I’ll hold tight.
I have 2 other straight razors OFD today, so my thrill is pretty high!

If you have a 10K, you could get away with just a 4K or 5K stone and skip an 8K.
