  The protests against segregation worked, though.

  No they worked because of the Black Panthers and Malcolm X threatening the white establishment. California under Ronald Reagan push its first gun control laws because the Black Panthers used their 2nd amendment rights to ensure that black americans could walk without fear, vote, and go eat anywhere they wanted to as per the 14th Amendment.

  The media has sanitized the movement to sway people into doing anything but asking nicely to an oppressive state is how you get things done, ignoring that when MLK Jr. was alive they called him a rebel who ruined every town he went into.

  Defeatism doesn’t work, but neither does pretending that the narrative the rich tells us is the whole truth.
