Imagine being elected president then just deciding, entirely on your own, that a law (that you helped pass) just shouldn’t exist. So much for checks and balances.

The law that passed congress, as written, explicitly gives the sitting president the ability to delay the ban by executive order.

It said before the ban goes into effect. Ban went into effect before he became president.
