It constantly got misinterpreted as racist because it was stripped of context. If something is constantly being misinterpreted as racist, then perhaps it’s just bad symbolism and needs to be changed.

I’m an anarchist, but whatever. Clearly the problem is everyone else who sees a problem with it, it’s not like you’d ever use unintentionally problematic imagery.
