Yeah fair, it’s definitely still very important. I may just be coping as a Knicks fan but I also expect their three point shooting to normalize by the end of the season. They’re shooting 40.5% from three as a team. Look at these three point percentages compared to their career averages.
Mitchell - Career 36.9% > This season 41.0% Garland - 38.9% > 42.9% LeVert - 34.7% > 44.5% Mobley - 30.3% > 40.4% Okoro - 35.7% > 47.6%
On the other hand, Strus, Merrill, and Niang are pretty close or below their career averages. Maybe they’re just moving the ball so well that they’re getting great looks, but my intuition is that the threes will stop dropping at some point this season.
Definitely a really fun team and story to watch as a neutral, but unfortunately I can’t quite enjoy it because they’re standing in the way of the Knicks making it out of the East this year.
